Pupils were evacuated after a rock displayed in classroom turned out as radioactive uranium

It was another regular day for students of Sacred Heart School in Salzburg, Austria, expect the fact that they had to evacuate the classroom after finding radioactive uranium.

According to the report, to explain the radioactive effect, Thomas Neff, had arrived at the school and when he took out the Geiger counters to check the radioactive emission, he left stunned seeing the readings.


Soon, he moved all over the class to check if anything wrong and finally found a stone looking thing, which was kept on display (thinking it as a stone), actually turned out to be radioactive uranium.

He immediately raised the alarm and pupils were evacuated from the class.
